A meeting between Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky was held on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference (MSC) 2024 at Hotel Bayerischer Hof, the conference venue, on Saturday.
During the meeting, both the leaders discussed issues of mutual and global interests.
Foreign Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud and Senior Secretary of the Foreign Affairs Ministry Masud Bin Momen, among others, were also present at the meeting, reports BSS.
Prior to the meeting with Zelensky, Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany paid a call on the prime minister at the same venue.
Earlier on Saturday morning, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina held a bilateral meeting with her Dutch counterpart Mark Rutte on the side-lines of the Munich Security Conference at the conference venue.
During the meeting, both leaders expressed satisfaction over the existing bilateral relation between their countries and agreed to elevate it to higher level. They both discussed issues of mutual and global interest, reports UNB.
Foreign ministers of India, UK meet PM Hasina
Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Saturday called on Prime Minister Sheikh on the sidelines of the MSC at the conference venue during which, they discussed the issues of mutual and global interests, according to sources close to the meeting.
“Honoured to call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh. Congratulated her on the renewed mandate,” said Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar in a message shared from X, formerly known as Twitter.
He appreciated the premier’s guidance for taking Bangladesh-India Maitri forward.
Later, Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of UK David Cameron also met with Hasina at the same venue. Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud and Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen were present at both meetings.
Earlier on Friday, she held meetings with the prime ministers of Qatar and Denmark.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived in Munich on Thursday on a three-day official visit to join the Munich Security Conference 2024. This is her first official tour abroad since being re-elected as prime minister for the fourth consecutive term.
Upon completion of the tour, the premier will leave Munich today and is scheduled to reach Dhaka tomorrow.
