Jewellers on Thursday increased the price of gold by Tk 1,166 to Tk 88,413 a bhari (11.664 grams) on the local market, said a press release.
The Bangladesh Jewellers’ Samity said that the prices of gold were raised on the local market considering an increase in prices of the metal on the global market.
According to BAJUS, the price of 22-karat gold has been raised to Tk 88,413 a bhari from Tk 87,247 a bhari.
The price of 21-karat gold has been raised to Tk 84,389 a bhari from Tk 83,281 a bhari and that of 18-karat gold to Tk 72,316 a bhari from Tk 71,383 a bhari.
The price of traditional gold has been increased to Tk 60,303 a bhari from Tk 59,486 a bhari, the release said.
The new price will be effective on the local market today, it said.
