Ferry services have been suspended on the Paturia-Daulatnia and Aricha-Kazirhat waterways since this morning due to dense fog.
Ferry services have been suspended to avoid accidents, said Shah Md Khaled Newaz, deputy general manager of the Aricha regional office of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC), reports our Manikganj correspondent.
The ferry services on the Paturia-Daulatdia route were suspended at 7:30 am. Meanwhile, on the Aricha-Kazirhat waterway, the services were suspended at 7:15 am, said Newaz.
Passengers, drivers and helpers of vehicles stranded at Paturia and Aricha ferry ghats in Manikganj and Daulatdia in Rajbari and Kazirhat ferry ghat in Pabna have been suffering due to the suspension of ferry services.
