Newly appointed US Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent Christensen paid a courtesy call on BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman at his office in Gulshan this afternoon (19 January).
The meeting took place shortly before 4pm and was attended by several officials from the US embassy, according to BNP media cell.
During the meeting, they exchanged greetings with each other and discussed ways to develop bilateral relations and enhance cooperation between their respective countries, reports BSS.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Foreign Affairs Advisory Committee member Humayun Kabir, Tarique’s Adviser Mahdi Amin, and BNP chairman’s press secretary Saleh Shibli were present at the meeting.
Earlier in the day, Canadian High Commissioner Ajit Singh also paid a courtesy call on Tarique Rahman around 11am.
