DHAKA, May 11, 2026 (BSS) – Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon today said the ‘Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor’ programme will open a new horizon of cooperation in the fields of education and research between the two countries.
“Through this initiative, we hope that the student-teacher exchange programme in the field of higher education will take our bilateral relations to a new height,” he said.
The education minister made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at the launching ceremony of the second phase of the ‘Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor’ programme and the inauguration of Education Expo-2026’ at a city hotel.
He said 74 Bangladeshi students are already pursuing higher education in Pakistan under the first phase of this programme. “There will be great opportunities for talented students in the second phase as well,” he added.
Noting that the standard of Pakistani universities is very good, Milon said Bangladeshi students are getting the opportunity to study there without any cost, which is very commendable.
Especially, he said, the monthly scholarship being given to students for accommodation and living expenses will help them focus fully on their studies.
The minister said there are many similarities in religion, culture and food habits of Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Mentioning that currently, there are 116 private and 57 public universities in Bangladesh, he hoped that in the future, students from Pakistan will come to Bangladesh for higher education too.
Milon stressed increasing joint collaboration and teacher-exchange programmes between the universities of the two countries.

Praising the transparent process of selecting students for scholarships, he said Pakistan’s selection method is excellent, while students are getting the opportunity to prove their qualifications through competitive examinations.
“Our ministry will provide all kinds of support in conducting this examination,” he said.
Pakistan High Commissioner to Bangladesh Imran Haider, Education Secretary Abdul Khaleque, representatives of Pakistan Higher Education Commission and senior officials of University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh were present.
