DHAKA, May 24, 2026 (BSS)- A special tribunal here set June 1 for holding a hearing on charge framing in a case lodged over the rape and murder of eight-year-old Ramisa Akter in the capital’s Pallabi area.
Judge Masrur Salekin of Dhaka Metropolitan Children Violence Suppression Tribunal passed the order today after accepting the charge sheet filed in the case.
Police earlier in the day submitted the charge sheet against the alleged rapist and killer Sohel Rana and his wife Swapna Akter.
Ramisa, a student of class 2 of Popular Model High School, Pallabi was raped and subsequently beheaded by her neighbour Sohel Rana at his flat in Millat Camp area in Pallabi on May 19.
Ramisa’s father filed the case with Pallabi thana next day.
