DHAKA, July 3, 2026 (BSS) – Online applications for various allowances and education stipends under the social security programmes will begin on August 1.

Candidates will be allowed to submit their application for the facilities till August 31.

The information was disclosed in a directive recently issued by the Social Security Wing of the Department of Social Services.

According to the directive, the Department of Social Services will accept online applications from August 1 for the old-age allowance, widow and destitute women allowance, disability allowance, education stipends for students with disabilities and various allowances and education stipends for disadvantaged communities.

A nationwide awareness campaign on the application process will be conducted throughout the July.

The directive said that for the 2026-2027 fiscal year, online applications will also be accepted under the programme for improving the living standards of disadvantaged communities.

Eligible applicants include members of the Hijra community, Bede community, other disadvantaged groups and tea workers seeking allowances and education stipends.

Interested applicants may apply within the stipulated period through https://mis.bhata.gov.bd/online-application website.

According to the directive, applicants must submit their applications based on their permanent addresses. Applicants for the disability allowance must possess a Subarna Nagorik Card.

Applicants are also required to provide an active mobile phone number registered with their National Identity Card or details of their own bank account. Those using a bank account must also provide an active mobile phone number for communication.

The Department of Social Services said that individuals already receiving regular benefits under any other government social security programme will not be considered for this programme.

Those who have already applied online and remain on the waiting list do not need to submit a new application.

The directive said that both new applications and previously submitted applications on the waiting list will be verified, and final beneficiaries will be selected subject to approval by the relevant authorities and the availability of allocations.

The department also said that beneficiaries selected in the final list will be considered eligible to receive allowances and education stipends effective from July 1, 2026.
