DHAKA, Aug 9, 2026 (BSS) – Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) today fixed Jet A-1 (jet fuel) price for domestic and international airlines at Tk 159.52 and $1.0358 per litre respectively.
The new pricing would come into effect from 12 midnight leading to August 9, 2026, according to the regulatory commission circular issued today.
Secretary of BERC Md Nazrul Islam Sarkar issued the circular saying that considering the Platts Rate from July 5 to August 4, 2026 the price has been fixed.
The BERC held a public hearing today in accordance with Sections 34 (4) and 34 (6) of the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission Act, 2003 in view of the proposal of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) and Padma Oil Company Limited (POCL).
Considering detailed price according to Platts Rate of Jet A-1 from July 5 to August 4, 2026 along with the US dollar exchange rate in Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation’s (BPC) Letter of Credit (LC) settlement, the BERC adjusted the price for August.
The commission formed a committee to review and adjust the monthly price of Jet A-1 submitted its report for August to the commission, taking into account international Platts rates, the US dollar exchange rate and changes in transportation costs.
