The National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) has pulled out “Onushandhani Paath” of history and social science books for class 6 and 7 for the academic year 2023.
The NCTB issued a notification, signed by Chairman Prof Md Farhadul Islam, in this regard on Friday.

Earlier today in Chandpur Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni informed that two books of class VI and VII will be withdrawn. According to the notification of NCTB, in the academic year 2023, the history and social science subject ‘Anusandhani Path’ textbooks prepared for the sixth and seventh classes have been withdrawn from teaching. Necessary revisions will be made to some chapters of the History and Social Science ‘Practical Text’ and Science ‘Inquiry Text’ textbooks of class VI prepared for the said classes.
Teaching of all other chapters of the said textbooks will continue. The amendments will be intimated to the educational institutions soon. As part of the implementation of the new curriculum to be launched in 2023, the government released new textbooks for classes VI and VII.
The books reached the students at the beginning of the new year. After getting the new book in hand, fierce discussion and criticism started about various mistakes and changes in the textbooks of different classes. Two committees have been constituted to correct the errors in the textbooks printed for the new curriculum and to investigate why the errors occurred.
On January 31, the formation of the committee was informed in a separate office order published by the government secondary-2 branch of the secondary and higher education department of the Ministry of Education.
