DHAKA, Nov 4, 2026 (BSS)- The DSE Brokers Association of Bangladesh (DBA) has expressed its gratitude to the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) for its decision to allow trading to resume in previously suspended Beneficiary Owner (BO) accounts.

In a press release issued here today, the DBA thanked BSEC Chairman Masud Khan, commissioners and relevant officials for taking the decision in the greater interest of investors and the country’s capital market.

A total of 617 BO accounts had earlier been suspended following requests from different government agencies and decisions of the commission.

Against this backdrop, the DBA submitted a written application to the BSEC chairman on July 20, 2026, requesting the reopening of the long-suspended BO accounts where there were no legal restrictions or prohibitions imposed by any relevant regulatory or government agency.

Welcoming the commission’s decision to reopen the accounts and allow trading, DBA President Saiful Islam expressed sincere appreciation to the BSEC for considering the association’s request.

The DBA believes that the decision will facilitate the trading of a substantial volume of shares that had remained locked for a long time.

This is expected to improve liquidity and trading activity in the capital market, encourage greater investor participation and help restore investor confidence.

The decision is also expected to provide relief to stockbrokers and merchant banks involved in margin lending, enabling them to overcome prolonged financial and commercial difficulties and resume normal business operations.

It will also help strengthen the financial capacity and operational continuity of the concerned institutions while contributing to the overall dynamism and effective participation in the capital market.

The DBA reaffirmed its commitment to working in coordination with the BSEC and other relevant stakeholders to implement government initiatives aimed at ensuring the development and stability of the country’s capital market.
